God to Aaron circa 1200 B.C.
24 The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
THE FATHER: The Lord bless you, and keep you;
To be blessed means to receive all sorts of good things from God. It is a wide and generous blessing.
To keep means that God will take care of us and never let go of us in any way.
THE SON: The Lord make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you;
The face of God has always been the second member of the Godhead, he was named Jesus when he became flesh.
Grace is the favor of God which can only be received by faith, it is God’s free favor, it contains not only common grace but redeeming grace. Grace is what the New Testament is all about.
THE HOLY SPIRIT: The Lord lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace.
The countenance of God is his presence. The Holy Spirit has always been the presence of God in the natural world.
The peace of God goes beyond understanding. It is the Holy Spirit that imparts this wonderful peace to us.
13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
14The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Cor. 13:14
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints
I Thessalonians 3:12-
23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
I Thessalonians 5:23-
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
2 Thessalonians 2:16-
16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all..
2 Thessalonians 3:16
20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
